Death of senior journalist Nandasiri Fernando

Daily News journalist W. Nandasiri Fernando passed away on Thursday evening. He is a veteran sub-editor whose sharp eye, quick wit and kind heart made him a cherished colleague at the Daily News. He was 66.

Fernando was also an avid cricket fan and he had experience in various capacities in the media field. He had worked as a journalist at the Sunday Leader and The Nation before joining the Daily News. His remains lie at his residence at 166, Thelawala Road, Angulana, Moratuwa and the funeral will be held at the General Cemetery, Rawathawatte at 4.30 p.m. today.
