Defending champions Trinity, Joes into semis

Defending champion Trinity College Kandy and St. Joseph’s College Colombo advanced to the semi final of the Under 19 division 1 Tier A Inter schools limited Overs cricket tournament yesterday.

Trinity College Kandy beat Mahanama College Colombo by 8 wickets in the quarter final played at De Mazenod College ground Kandana. St. Joseph’s College Colombo beat last year runner up Richmond College Galle by 2 wickets according D/L method in the quarter final played at Thurstan College ground Colombo.

This tournament is conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association and sponsored by Sri Lanka Cricket.

Dinusha Peiris of Trinity College Kandy scored unbeaten 78 runs against Mahanama Colombo. Sri Lanka youth cap Hirun Kapurubandara scored 55 runs in 40 balls with 4 boundaries and 4 sixes against Richmond College Galle.
