Dialog School Rugby 7s Tourney to be played indoors

Due to the present COVID-19 pandemic, the Dialog Schools Rugby 7s tourney will be played behind closed doors. The tournament will be broadcast live on Dialog TV Channel 140, Dialog ViU, thepapre.com, and on the Asia Rugby Facebook page.

Well-wishers will also get the opportunity to vote for the most popular team from each province on their respective match days by visiting dlg.lk/mostpopular. The winning team will be announced before the Cup Final in each province and will be rewarded with a Rs.50,000 gift voucher.

The Western, Central, North-Western, and Southern provinces will be playing the tourney in a group format, with the top finishers from the groups challenging one another in the knockout stage, while the Sabaragamuwa teams will be playing each other in a league structure to decide the provincial champion.

The Western Province games will be played on the 18th and 19th of December at the Royal College Sports Complex, whereas the Central Province games will be played on the 27th of December at the Pallekelle Grounds in Kandy. The North-Western games will be played on the 28th of December at the Maliyadewa College Grounds in Kurunegala, while the Sabaragamuwa Province games will be played on the 30th of December at the Ruwanwella Public Grounds.

The Southern Province games will be played on the 31st of December at the Maliyadewa College Grounds in Kurunegala. Transmission for all games will commence from 8.50 am onwards.
