Dilapidated Vine Bridge across Hamilton Canal to be repaired

The Governor of the Western Province, Roshan Gunathilake revealed at the Gampaha district related committee meeting that steps will be taken to provide the necessary provisions under the Western Provincial Council funds for the repair of the “Dilapidated Vine Bridge” located across the Hamilton Canal, Hendala, Wattala.

A decision was reached specially in the discussion about the need to urgently repair the dilapidated bridge referred by the Wattala Regional Coordination Committee at the Gampaha District Coordination Committee meeting co-chaired by Governor Roshan Gunathilake and Gampaha District Member of Parliament Sahan Pradeep Withana.

At present, the local residents are hopefully expectant that all planks will be removed and all other elements including iron wires and cables will be repaired as soon as possible, even though some of the planks that were removed by the local residents of which 13 planks that were badly decayed have been temporarily replaced with new planks.
