Dilshan played for three years in the under 13 age group at the Division Three Cricket tournament conducted by the Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association training under Madhushanka Damakage,an old boy and former cricketer of the School. The new Coach Damakage instructed Dilshan to bowl chinaman instead of leg spin bowling and after that he continued this new bowling method but could not perform well in the first two years and came out with a sterling performance as the Captain of the Under 15 team to score over 500 runs, his highest score being 112 runs against Poramadulla Central College and bagging thirty two wickets and the best being bagging a match bag of 12 wickets for Sixty two runs against Vidyartha College,Kandy at the all Island Division Three Cricket tournament.

In the year 2016 Dilshan led the School Under 15 team and scored over Four Hundred Runs in Seven matches, highest being Fifty three runs against St.Mary’s College,Kegalle at the Div. Two Under 15 Cricket tournament. He bagged 32 wickets in Nine matches, his best being Six for Thirty six against Wickremabahu Vidyala, Gampola. In the Under 17 Cricket tournament he scored over 350 runs in Six matches and the highest being scoring 47 runs and bagging 4 for 28 runs against Kingswood College, Kandy.

Dilshan was selected to the first Eleven team from 2017 onwards and in 2019 he was appointed as the Captain of the first eleven team in 2019/20 season and his team played only five One day matches due to the present situation in the country and his team while winning the matches played against Kegalle Vidyalaya and Henegama Vidyala lost to Kingswood College and Kularatne Vidyalaya,Ambalangoda.

The match against Panadura Royal ended in a ‘No decision’ and in the ‘Big Match’ against Sri Sumangala, Kandy he bagged five wickets for Forty five runs and six wickets for 47 runs in the Second Innings with a match bag of eleven wickets for Ninety two runs. He was adjudged the ‘Best Bowler’ in the two day ‘Big Match’match against Sri Sumangala, Kandy. While playing School Cricket he represented the Kandy Cricket Academy run by Laxman Panditharatne and Dilshan scored Forty five runs bagging four wickets for twenty two runs against a touring Junior Cricket team of South Africa in 2019.

In the same year at the Kandy District Division. three Cricket tournament he bagged six wickets for Thirty three runs against Peradeniya University team and scored Forty five runs against Madawala SC representing the Kandy Cricket Academy.

Dilshan’s intention is to become a National Cricketer as well as an Accountant in future.
