The third seed and the schoolgirl from St. Bridget’s Convent powered her way to clinch the Girls’ Under-16 Singles title with a convincing 6-4, 6-0 victory over Githmi Fernando in the final encounter.
Earlier, Dinara won the Girls’ Under-18 Singles title while overcoming Hasali Gajaba 6-2, 6-1 in the final game.
Meanwhile, the eighth seed Methwan Wijemanne of Royal College, Colombo created a major upset when he toppled the top seed Thilina Dissanayake 6-2, 6-4 in the Boys’ Under-16 final encounter.
Savini Jayasuriya and Janali Manamperi lived up to expectations as the top seeds in the Women’s Doubles as they beat the combination of Hasali Gajaba and Saneshi Willoraarachchi 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 in an exciting final match.
