Colombo Additional Magistrate Rajindra Jayasuriya yesterday (16) granted permission for the release of the body of late businessman, Janashakthi Company Director Dinesh Schaffter, to his brother to bury his remains.
The body was exhumed on a request of the five-member committee of judicial and forensic medical experts appointed to uncover the actual cause behind the death of the reputed businessman.
His remains are to be buried in a plot in the area belonging to the Church of England section at the Jawatte Public Cemetery in Colombo which has been reserved by the late businessman’s wife.
The five-member expert medical panel had informed the court earlier that the final investigation report stating the cause of Schaffter’s death has been prepared and the committee also informed the Court that a report can be submitted to the court after the body is handed over to the relatives for burial.
