Dineth Hiruka Bandara a karateka par excellence

Karate, Roller Skating and Football Player and Gold Medal winner of 4th Asia Cup International Open Karate Championship under 9 event held in Anderi, Mumbai, India Narayana Mudiyanselage Dineth Hiruka Bandara Narayana has brought honour and glory to his two schools Defence Services College Kurunegala and Lakdas de Mel College Kurunegala and his motherland with his deeds in the sphere of sports.
Dineth was born on 13th April 2010 and initially admitted to Defence Services College in 2016 and in the same year his parents Retired Major of Sri Lanka ArmyAnurudhdha Narayana and Achala Kumari Rajakaruna handed over their son to a Karate private coach PrabathJayawardene and his first attempt was in 2017 and at the Sri Lanka Schools Junior Karate Championship under eight he won Bronzes for Kata and Kumite and in the same year at the Kurunegala District Meet in Kumite he won a Gold and in Kata he came up to the Best Eight and in the North Western Provincial Meet too he won a Gold for Kumite and in Kata he came to the Best Eight

In 2018 in the under 9 category he won a Gold for Kata and Silver for Kumite and competing at the Sri Lanka Schools Karate Championship held at Sugathadasa Stadium he won Bronzes for Kata and Kumite and in the Sri Lanka National Championship he won a Gold for Kata and a Bronze for Kumite and in the under 9 team event his team won a Bronze
With these performances under his belt he was a unanimous choice for the 4th Asia Cup International Open Karate Championship held in Anderi, Mumbai, India in 2018 and he clinched Golds in Kumite and Kata in the under 9 age group
Then in 2019 at the under 10 category he won a Gold for Kumite and a Bronze for Kata at the Kurunegala District Meet and in the NWP Championship he got a Gold for Kumite and a Bronze for Kata and in the Sri Lanka National Karate Championship he collected a Bronze for Kumite and at the Sri Lanka Schools Do Karate Championship he received Bronzes for Kata and Kumite and he has to keep away in the year 2020 due to Covid 19 and in the Sri Lanka National Level he won a Bronze for Kumitea. During a span of four years Dineth has won 20 medals in major tournaments which includes nine Golds, one Silver and 10 Bronzes. In 2018 he did the Skipping Rope Event at the 9 age group at the Zonal meet and came first.
