Disrespect towards Parliament should be punished – Justice Minister

Minister of Justice Dr. Wijayadasa Rajapaksa said in Parliament yesterday (8) that steps should be taken to enforce the law against people who behave disrespectfully towards Parliament.

The Minister said that Parliament depends on the trust of the people, and it is disrespectful to the Parliament to propagate and view that violence against women takes place within the Parliament.

The Minister said this during the heated debate between State Minister Ashok Priyantha and MP Rohini Kaviratne.
