Daraz Cares on their Daraz platform aims to drive positive change in the community through the power of e-commerce.
Daraz Cares recently partnered with LEADS Sri Lanka (LEADS) to provide the organization with the technology and reach to raise donations and sustain the meaningful work LEADS is doing in Sri Lanka.
Daraz Cares invites its users and all with a passion for making a change in the lives of children to join the LEADS initiatives today and support its multiple causes on Daraz Cares.
Daraz’s South Asia’s e-commerce leader commitment to uplift communities through technology is apparent even through their CSR initiatives carried out through Daraz Cares. Through this partnership, Daraz users can purchase LEADS donation cards on the website and the Daraz mobile application. The donation cards can be purchased for multiple causes championed by LEADS, ranging from donating reusable sanitary napkins, school bags, and books for children, to donating towards therapeutic care for child survivors of abuse.
LEADS Sri Lanka (LEADS) is a national agency established in 1983 with a mandate to create safer spaces and brighter futures for the children of Sri Lanka. Their main focus is on child protection and the promotion of children’s rights.
LEADS serves the community with a specialised team of mental health practitioners and equipped caregivers to provide for the psychosocial needs of child survivors of abuse. They facilitate residential and non-residential therapeutic care through LEADS’ centres in Jaffna, Badulla, and Colombo to ensure that young survivors receive holistic restorative care.
LEADS also provides legal aid and guidance throughout the legal processes, with the aim of supporting children and minimising the re-victimisation of child survivors of abuse.
Other LEADS programmes include working to end period poverty and raising funds to finance the education and nutrition needs of children in Sri Lanka.
