Drug peddler who fled cops re-arrested

The Kurunegala Police said that a woman drug trafficker who fled while under the custody of the Kurunegala Police was arrested while hiding in the Modara area of Colombo.

It has been revealed that she fled from police custody and went to Anuradhapura by bus where she spent a day and then went to Modara.

This woman is a resident of Elugala, Kurunegala and she is 24 years old. A team of Kurunegala Police officers arrested her on October 15 with six grams and 110 milligrams of heroin.

She escaped from the police in the early hours of October 16.

A senior police officer said that this woman has been arrested by the police before for drug trafficking.
