Drunk constable caught with hooch

A Police officer who was employed as a judge’s personal guard was caught by Alawwa Police officers last night while he was drunk and transporting 21 bottles of illegal liquor on a motorcycle.

This police officer attached to the Warakapola Police Station is a constable. The duty pistol was also found in his possession.

The 21 bottles of illegal liquor were found packed in polythene packets during the inspection of the motorcycle which was stopped at an emergency roadblock deployed by the Alawwa Police for crime prevention activities. He was traveling towards Warakapola.
