Drunk driver snuffs out life of young Anandian

A student who scored 182 marks at the last Grade 5 Scholarship Examination and managed to secure the admission to Ananda College, Colombo died in an accident that took place at Meegoda junction yesterday due to reckless driving by a drunk driver.

Deceased was identified as Vinindu Sathsara a Grade 6 student of Ananda Collage Colombo resident of Hettiyawatte, Meegoda.

This accident happened last Wednesday (26) when a car coming from Avissawella towards Homagama at high speed collided with a cab that was running from Homagama towards Avissawella and the cab crashed onto Vinindu and his father who was waiting to cross the road, police said.

Police said that the child and the father were admitted to Homagama Hospital. The child was pronounced dead while receiving treatment at the hospital yesterday morning.
