Dulaj Bandara an outstanding cricketer from Dharmaraja
Twenty-year-old Dulaj Bandara is an outstanding cricketer of Dharmaraja College, Kandy where he had the honour of leading the Under-19 Team during the 2019/2020 Inter-School season.
He started his cricket career under the guidance of senior coaches Senaka Dissanayake, Ananda Wijesekera, Gamini Wasalathanthri and Gamini Debahapuwa.
He showed his talent as a right-hand batsman and a sound fielder and played for two years in the Under-15 Team and in the first year he scored 320 runs including two fifties in the Under-15 Cricket Tournament.
In the following year he scored a century against D. S. Senanayake College in a second-round match in addition to two half-centuries. Dulaj led the Under-15 Provincial Team as well and in the District Tournament he scored two centuries against Nuwara Eliya District and Kandy District Team. In the Under-17 Tournament he scored three half-centuries and in the 2018/19 season he scored over 600 runs with five half-centuries and he received the Best Batsman’s Award at the Colours Night.
In the 2019/2020 season he really showed his class as a batsman with a century against S. Thomas’ College, Mount Lavinia and three half-centuries against D. S. Senanayake College, Mahinda College, Galle and Nalanda College, Colombo.
