EC Chairman briefs his officials on duties for General Election

All the District Election Returning Officers and District Deputy and Assistant Election Commissioners were summoned to the Election Commission (EC) Head Office in Rajagiriya yesterday (06).

Election Commission Chairman R.M.A.L. Rathnayake said that all election officials were called to Colombo yesterday to discuss all matters and activities and finalise preparations pertaining to the Parliamentary Election which will be held on Thursday (14).

Elections Commissioner General Saman Sri Ratnayake and Additional Commissioners also attended the meeting.

The establishment of polling stations in each district, counting of votes and counting centres and the process of directing government officials to carry out all their duties for the Parliamentary Election were discussed during the meeting.

The EC further stated that the training provided for senior officials employed for Parliamentary Election duties has been completed.

All the District Election officials who gathered from across the country for the discussion and briefing were informed by the EC Chairman to be participate in the election-related duties assigned to them until the Parliamentary Election is concluded to ensure smooth conduct of the entire election.
