EDB to launch ‘Creative Sri Lanka 2030’ today in London

United Kingdom: For the first time the Export Development Board will use the first ever ‘Sourced Sri Lanka Textile & Apparel Roadshow’ which will begin today and end tomorrow, June 18 at the Lindley Hall, London to launch Sri Lanka’s National Export Brand ‘Creative Sri Lanka 2030 program.

“This will be at the panel discussion on day two,” said EDB Director Industries Promotion, Manoja Dissanayake.

“We are proud to assert that Sri Lanka’s exports consistently embody sustainability, competence and authenticity. These pillars form the foundation upon which the Sri Lanka National Export Brand was developed, providing our export sector with an integrated approach and a strong national brand identity.”

Sri Lanka’s export sector is now branded as “Your Vital Island.” This brand signifies that Sri Lanka is the essential sourcing destination, offering the highest quality products rooted in sustainability, competence and authenticity.

Under the ‘Your Vital Island brand’, Sri Lanka offers a wide range of premium product segments to the world, including apparel, Ceylon tea, Ceylon spices, coconut products, food and beverages, fishery products, rubber products, ceramic and porcelain products, boat and shipbuilding, as well as electrical and electronic products. Additionally, excel in service sectors such as ICT and logistics.

“This is a remarkable moment for Sri Lanka’s export sector which is having the privilege to launch the Sri Lanka’s National Export Brand on this esteemed occasion in the presence of a respected gathering.”

She also said they actively promoted taking many SMEs on board to London mainly to expose them to both UK and EU markets. The Source Sri Lanka event is being organised by Lanka Apparel Sourcing Association (SLASA), Export Development Board (EDB) Joint Apparel Association Forum (JAAF) and is supported by the Sri Lankan High Commission in the UK.
