Eight bikers arrested over ‘TikTok’ racing frenzy

The Colombo Crime Division says that eight youth who were involved in illegally organizing motorcycle racing for betting on the TikTok social media network were arrested along with five motorcycles at Bambalapitiya Marine Drive yesterday (14).

According to the information received by the Colombo Crimes Division that nearly 500 motorbikes were engaged in racing in the Marine Drive early yesterday morning, a police team raided the area and arrested the suspects.

During the questioning of the arrested young suspects, it has been revealed that they were called to this area by messages through TikTok.
