Eleven associates of drug lord ‘Harak Kata’ to be questioned

Colombo Additional Magistrate Manjula Ratnayake yesterday gave permission to detain and interrogate 11 suspects who were arrested by the Colombo Crime Division (CCD) for allegedly aiding and abetting the drug trafficking activities of suspect Nadun Chinthaka Wikramaratne alias ‘Harak Kata’ while maintaining close contacts with him over the phone.

The Court also issued an order to the relevant telephone companies to obtain telephone records regarding these suspects.

The court issued these orders after taking into consideration a request made by the CCD to issue an order to detain and interrogate the suspects and peruse their phone records in this connection.

The CCD told the Court that it has been revealed that these suspects have been in close contact with Harak Kata, who is in CID custody, by phone.
