Emergency sluice gates open in Kalawewa

With the higher rainfall in the catchment areas around Kalawewa,  emergency sluice gates were opened 16 feet each on the instructions of the Bowatthenna Irrigation Engineer.

According to the irrigation engineer, with the opening of the emergency sluice gates in Kalawewa, about 13,443 cubic feet per second of water are being released.
