Enjoining Order preventing payment for organic fertilizer shipment extended

The Colombo Commercial High Court yesterday (05) extended the Enjoining Order preventing payment to the Chinese company for the organic fertilizer shipment.

High Court Judge Priyantha Fernando also directed the defence to file their objections on the same day.

The Enjoining Order was issued at the request of the Colombo Commercial Fertilizer Company, barring the Chinese company and its local agent from receiving any payment under the Letter of Credit.

Under the agreement, the Chindao Chinese Company wanted to ship the sterilized organic fertilizer to Sri Lanka, but the company admitted that the consignment may contain microorganisms.
