The head of a GCE Ordinary Level Examination centre in the Vavuniya education zone, has been suspended for alleged irregularities.
He has been accused of giving question papers of the examination to some candidates a few minutes before the scheduled time and also collecting answer sheets of another group of students half an hour before the scheduled time.
After an investigation initiated by the officers of the Zonal Education Office regarding several complaints received regarding this incident his services as the examination centre head has been suspended.
Steps have also been taken to conduct a disciplinary inquiry against him.
