Exam to fill 2,763 GN vacancies in December – PM

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena told Parliament yesterday that the Examinations Department has announced that an examination to fill the vacancies of Grama Niladhari officers will be held in the first week of December 2023.

He said that there are 2,763 Grama Niladhari officer vacancies in Sri Lanka by June 6, 2023, and the approval of the Cabinet of Ministers has been obtained to hold the examination to fill the vacancies of Grama Niladhari officers that existed by March 31.2021.

The remaining vacancies will be filled by recruiting the officers currently in the public service, he said.

He said that the examination will be held in December by the Sri Lanka Examinations Department for applicants who have submitted their applications. The Prime Minister said this while replying to the question raised by MP Sanjiva Edirimanna in Parliament.
