Excise Dept. earns tax revenue of Rs. 177 Bn

This year, the Sri Lanka Excise Department generated a tax revenue of Rs. 177 billion.

Excise Department Commissioner General Saman Jayasinghe told the Daily News yesterday (29) that 98 percent of the target income was achieved by the Department this year.

The Commissioner General further said that all the employees of the Excise Department had faced various challenges when achieving the targets and thanked all of them for it. He also said that various steps are being taken to generate more revenue through various targets in 2024.
