Father dies after assault by his son

The police say that a 57-year-old person has died after being assaulted by his son in Kandagolla, Badulla.

The police said that after a heated argument between the father and son that escalated last Saturday night at their residence, the son assaulted his father.

The father, who was seriously injured by his son’s assault, was admitted to the Badulla General Hospital for treatment and later transferred from the Badulla General Hospital to the Kandy Teaching Hospital, where he died.

The 30-year-old son has been arrested by the police in connection with the incident and the Badulla Police are conducting further investigations.
