Father, son arrested over murder after two years

Ridimaliyadda Police officers have managed to reveal a mysterious murder of a mother who was beaten to death by her husband and her son and threw the body in a toilet and spread the word that the mother had died of Covid, two years ago.

The father and son were arrested by the Police on last Friday (28). Both of them have been remanded until August 9 after they were produced before the Mahiyanganaya Magistrate’s Court yesterday (29).A doubt has arisen among the villagers about the woman’s disappearance, and the villagers said to Ridimaliyadda Police, that there was a family dispute between the woman and her husband.

The son’s wife had come to Ridimaliyadda Police two weeks ago to lodge a complaint against her husband regarding a family dispute. During the interrogations regarding this dispute some information regarding the deceased woman was revealed.

Accordingly the Police interrogated the son regarding his mother’s death and after about two hours of interrogation he confessed that his father killed the mother and hide the body with his help.
