Ferry disaster: Owner, operators arrested

Police yesterday arrested the owner and two operators of the ferry that capsized in the Kurinjankerni lagoon killing 6 persons including children.

Six persons who were rescued from the Kinniya Kurinjankerni disaster in Trincomalee district yesterday (23) and were treated at the Kinniya Base Hospital have returned to their homes after receiving treatment yesterday. Trincomalee District MP Imran Mahroof yesterday visited the hospital and inquired about the welfare of those admitted to the hospital.
