Filipino held with 2 Kg of cocaine in Colombo 5 hotel
Police Narcotics Bureau yesterday arrested a Filipino national and a hotel owner in Battaramulla along with 02 kilos of cocaine worth over Rs 100 million at a famous hotel in Colombo 5 during a raid. The Filipino (28), arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (17) morning as a tourist, hiding the cocaine in his suitcase. He had managed to enter into the country without being detected by the Customs personnel on duty at the BIA and he has come to the hotel located in the Colombo 5 from the airport.
Police Narcotics Bureau received information about this Filipino national on Wednesday and surveillance was mounted near the hotel in identifying and arresting the persons involved in the network in Sri Lanka arriving to collect the cocaine stock.
A businessman who owns a hotel in Battaramulla has come to the hotel where this Filipino was staying to take this cocaine stock.
The trafficker came to the hotel yesterday (17) and was arrested by the officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau who were in disguise when he got into the car he came in to get the parcel of cocaine.
The stock had been sent by Dubai based Sri Lankan drug trafficker named Shiran Basik.
