First phase of school third term 2023 ends today

Education Minister Dr. Susil Premajayantha said that the first phase of the third school term for the academic year 2023 in Government schools and Government approved private schools will end today (22) and the second phase of the third school term will begin on February 1, 2024.

The Minister also said that the second phase of the third school term will be held from February 1 to 16 in 2024. The Minister said that the first school term for the academic year 2024 will start on February 19, 2024.

The first school term for 2023 had to start in April and we have been able to bring it in advance by two months.

The Minister said that the A/L examination had to be postponed for five weeks as there was a request to postpone the A/Level examination. It was scheduled to be held on November 27. The Minister also announced that steps will be taken to finish the syllabus for Grades 1 to 13 classes by the end of November next year.
