Five arrested in Pulmudai over attempt to sell artefact for Rs. 20 million
Five suspects have been arrested in Pulmudai while allegedly preparing to sell a rock believed to hold ancient archaeological value.
Police said the raid was carried out yesterday in the Tennamaram area of the Pulmudai Police Division, following information received by officers.
The suspects were reportedly attempting to sell the artifact for Rs. 20 million when they were apprehended.
The arrested individuals, aged between 29 and 57, are residents of Puliyankulam, Ichchalampattu, and Trincomalee.
The Pulmudai Police are conducting further investigations. (Newswire)
