Five eggs at Rs.60 costs trader Rs.100,000
A fine of Rs.100,000 has been imposed on a trader in Weeraketiya for selling five eggs at a higher price by the Walasmulla Magistrate yesterday.
The Consumer Affairs Authority said a trader in Weerakatiya, who sold five eggs at Rs.60 each was arrested by the officers of the District Consumer Affairs Authority in Hambantota He was arrested on the instructions of Hambantota district secretary H.P.Sumanasekara.
