Football Election at three different Districts

The Annual General Meeting and the electing of office-bearers of Football Sri Lanka (FSL) will be held at three different Districts – Galle, Kandy and Polonnaruwa – today commencing at 1.00 p.m.

The Galle Cricket Stadium, Pallekele Stadium in Kandy and the Polonnaruwa National Sports Complex are the venues that will be used for voting.

“Football in Sri Lanka is going to take a historic change today where the people have decided to choose a leader who grew up with football from grassrooot level,” Presidential candidate Jaswar Umar said.

“It is going to be an ideal opportunity to raise the game of football as the top sport in the country and I am pretty confident of winning,” Presidential candidate Dr. Manil Fernando revealed.

A total of 186 voters from 62 affiliated leagues are eligible to cast their votes in this election to elect the new football administration where the voting will be done by a secret ballot.
