Foreign tourist dies in accident in Balathgamuwa

A foreign woman was killed and two others injured after their car travelling from Gampola towards Hemmathagama overturned in the Balathgamuwa area on Sunday.

The car travelling on the Hemmathagama – Gampola road overturned in the Daravanguwa area.

Of the occupants, Prakash Sharita Devi (67), an Indian-origin resident of Sydney, Australia, died, while her daughter Shami Shivangi Prakash (30) and the driver of the vehicle, Mohammad Unif Tiros, a resident of Palliyawatta, Ederamulla, Wattala, were admitted to the Gampola Hospital with injuries.
