Foreigner seeks order to invalidate decision to deport her

A Writ Application was yesterday filed in the Court of Appeal by Scottish national Kayleigh Fraser who is on a tourist visa to Sri Lanka is seeking an order to invalidate the decision taken by the Department of Immigration and Emigration to deport her from the country.

The petitioner states that she was involved in the protests at the Galle Face Green in Colombo and thereafter the Department of Immigration and Emigration had taken an arbitrary decision to terminate her Visa.

She is seeking for the Court of Appeal to rule that the decision by the Department of Immigration and Emigration is unjust.

The petition says that the Department of Immigration and Emigration had decided to terminate the Visa issue to British National Kayleigh Fraser, who posted Galle Face protest content on Social Media.

The Petition has cited the Controller General of the Department of Immigration and Emigration and the Attorney General as the respondents.
