Forensic report to Court on beer drinking girl
Kekirawa District Judge and Magistrate Senarath Bandara ordered the Kekirawa Police to present the report of the forensic medical examination conducted by the Forensic Medical Officer of the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital regarding the 14-year-old schoolgirl in the Kekirawa education zone who came to school after drinking alcohol.
The judge further ordered Police to immediately arrest and present the suspects before the Court if someone introduced the girl to alcohol or gave her alcohol.
This order was made in consideration of the statement made by the Kekirawa Police to the Court regarding the incident of a 14-year-old schoolgirl studying in a college in the Kekirawa education zone coming to school after drinking alcohol.
She was recognized and taken into Police custody by two officers of the Kekirawa Police who were engaged in traffic duty in front of the school where the girl in question was studying.
It has been revealed in the preliminary Police investigation that the 14-year-old schoolgirl was taught to drink alcohol by the father of the girl’s mother’s husband from her second marriage. Kekirawa police say that the suspect has left the area and fled.
On the instructions of Kekirawa Police Station OIC Inspector Sumith Munasinghe, the Children and Women Bureau of the Police is conducting further investigations in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Senior Probation Officer of the Kekirawa Magistrate’s Court Karuna Keerthiratne is also conducting a separate investigation regarding this incident and will report facts to Court.
