Former MP, campers bailed out

Fifteen persons including former UNP MP Sydney Jayaratne arrested in connection with camping in the Somawathiya National Park in contravention of the quarantine regulations were released on bail on Saturday.

Wildlife officers arrested the former parliamentarian and the group while camping at the National Park on Saturday. Investigations reveal that they had entered National park on Friday evening and spent the night at the Galrenda camping site without permission.
