Former Mrs. Sri Lanka Pushpika de Silva, who was summoned by the Piliyandala Police to give a statement regarding the investigation into the attack on the house of Hiru TV journalist Chamuditha Samarawickrema, arrived at the Piliyandala Police yesterday.
Pushpika de Silva had informed the Piliyandala Police that she would arrive at the Station at 3.00 pm yesterday, police said.
She was summoned by the police on the 23rd to make a statement regarding the incident and had informed the police through her lawyers that she could not come on that day and that she would come on another day.
Accordingly, she had arrived at the Piliyandala Police Station yesterday accompanied by her lawyer. Police said Pushpika had been informed to appear before the Police at 10.00 am on the 23rd and a statement was to be recorded from her as she had taken part in an interview conducted by Samarawickrema on his YouTube channel. Earlier, Police also recorded a four-hour long statement from Ape Jana Bala party leader Saman Prasanna Perera who had also taken part in an interview with Samarawickrema on his YouTube channel.
