Four arrested for robbing medical centre in Kadawatha

Four members of the gang who entered a medical centre at Eldeniya, Kadawatha and put a knife to the throat of the doctor who was treating patients, and robbed Rs.150,000 in cash and three mobile phones were taken into custody by a team of officers from the Kadawatha Police, day before (11) night.

The police found three hand grenades, 2200 milligrams of heroin and the knife that was used to intimidate the doctor, in the possession of these robbers.

This doctor’s medical center is located close to the Kandy Road.

This gang of robbers who had arrived in a motor vehicle had barged into the center and engaged in this theft on 24 February.

The Kadawatha police said they found the vehicle in which the robbers arrived, as well.

According to the police, among the suspects arrested are two residents of Koshinna, Ganemulla, and two residents of Kirikiththa, Weliweriya. There is a welding mechanic among them too. The police said that the suspects are aged, 39, 34, 32 and 27.
