Settikulama Police officers arrested four suspects who stole 14 steel beams worth Rs. 242,288, which were used as a security fence behind the railway staff quarters of the Settikulama Railway Station on Wednesday (28).
The steel beams were stolen on the night of May 19. According to a complaint made by the watchman of Settikulama Railway Station, investigations were conducted and the four suspects were arrested.
The police said that the stolen beams were sold to a scrap metal shop and the scrap metal dealer was also among the arrested suspects. The other suspects arrested in connection with this theft are residents of Menik Farm, Settikulama, aged 22, 24 and 35, police said.
