Free appointment system launched for driving licence medical tests

The National Transport Medical Institute (NTMI) has launched a new digital appointment system allowing the public to reserve dates and times for driving licence medical examinations free of charge.

According to the Ministry of Transport, the new process, introduced today, is aimed at making it easier for applicants to obtain the medical certificate required when applying for a driving licence.

Under the system, appointments can be reserved through two methods, online or by telephone.

Applicants using the online service can make an appointment through appointment.ntmi.lk without paying an appointment fee.

Those wishing to make an appointment by telephone can use the number 2102021, together with the relevant regional telephone code.

For example, applicants seeking services from the Colombo office can contact 011 2102021 to reserve a date and time.

According to the NTMI, the new system covers 25 branch offices located at district level across the country, allowing applicants to select a preferred date and time without incurring an additional charge. (Newswire)
