Free legal aid for National Law Week from September 25 to October 1 – BASL

Free legal counselling to people’s legal problems will be given during the National Law Week 2023 from September 25 to October 1, the Bar Association of Sri Lanka (BASL) said. BASL President, Senior Lawyer Kaushalya Nawaratne said this at a press conference held at the BASL premises in Colombo yesterday.

He said that several programmes are scheduled to be held focusing on the people and covering all nine provinces and 25 districts of the country concurrent to the National Law Week-2023.

He emphasized that although this is an essential activity in the Association’s calendar every year, it has not been possible to do this for several years. However, National Law Week-2023 is scheduled to be held this year from September 25 to October 1.

He said that anyone can get free legal advice during this week for any legal problem and those who wish to get the necessary advice can register on the following phone numbers (0113133864/0113133872) and send their legal matters to the following address (No.153, Mihindu Mawatha, Colombo 12).

Former BASL President U. R De Silva PC told that the initial program of the National Law week-2023 is scheduled to be held in Colombo, and Colombo Program to provide free legal counsel will be held on September 27 and 28 at Hulftsdorp Courts Complex.
