Furniture shop owner’s chain robbed in Horana
The Horana Police has started an investigation to arrest a man who came to a wooden furniture shop on Horana-Panadura road belonging to a lawyer’s father and robbed the owner’s chain worth Rs. 455,000.
Police say that this robbery took place on the Friday (1) night. The lawyer daughter of the shop owner has filed a complaint with the Police on Saturday (2). Police said that a young man who came to the shop at around 7.30 pm, held something in the face of the shop owner. Police said that the owner had fainted and when he regained consciousness, he told Police that the gold necklace was missing. The owner has been admitted to Horana Hospital where the doctors who examined him have said that it appears that he was made unconscious by ingesting some poisonous substance. But the doctors have told the Police that they cannot say what the substance was.
Horana Police say that they are trying to identify the suspect through the security camera footages and are working to arrest the suspect.
