Future SJB govt will rein in corrupt leaders – Fonseka
A future Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) government will take measures to recover all the money and resources plundered by corrupt rulers and politicians since Independence, SJB Parliamentarian Sarath Fonseka stated.
He was addressing a series of meetings of Samagi Jana Balawegaya held on Saturday (12) in Habaraduwa and Karandeniya areas in the Galle.
The people of this country do not act wisely when electing the political representatives. Voters in Sri Lanka should be determined to exercise their voting right wisely in the future.
The situation in the country today is in a deplorable state due to this anomaly, he said.
He said the good governance government had not done its job properly and the then opposition had come to power due to infighting by the leaders of the Yahapalana government and their weak decisions. Therefore, the (SJB) is ready to embark on a new journey of building the country.
For that we all are ready to rally round the new political leadership. The SJB has the potential to boost the economy, he asserted.
Galle District MPs Gayantha Karunatilake, Manusha Nanayakkara, SJB Habaraduwa and Galle Organizers Sumanasiri Liyanage, Tharaka Nanayakkara, former Galle District MPs Bandulal Bandarigoda, Wijepala Hettiarachchi and Piyasena Gamage also spoke.
