In an exciting showdown at the 34th National Youth Sports Festival, the Hambantota District men’s cricket team and the Gampaha District women’s cricket team emerged as champions in the Softball Cricket Championship. This tournament was organized by the National Youth Council, under the Sports and Youth Affairs Ministry’s supervision, and it took place at the Mahaweli Grounds in Embilipitiya.

The men’s runner-up position was secured by the Batticalo District, while in the women’s category, the Ratnapura District cricket team claimed the second spot. Notably, the third place in both the men’s and women’s divisions was earned by the cricket teams from Kurunegala District, showcasing their remarkable skills.

The 34th National Youth Sports Festival is not over yet. The final phase, which will feature various track and field events, is set to be held from November 16 to 19 at the Sugathadasa Stadium.
