Gaza victim Bandara will get full compensation – Envoy

Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara, said that the remains of Sujith Bandara Yatawara who died in the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict will be sent to Sri Lanka shortly.

He also said the next of kin of Yatawara will be paid the full compensation allocated for a migrant worker in case of death.

He also said that since he went to Israel legally, he is entitled to all those compensations. According to Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara, the 48-year-old’s death was confirmed by the Interpol branch of Israel Police after linking the DNA samples of his children to an unidentified body. Sujith Bandara Yatawara remained missing since October 7, the day Hamas militants stormed from the blockaded Gaza Strip into nearby Israeli towns.
