Girl identifies four suspects

The 15-year old girl, who was a victim of sexual exploitation over the Internet, yesterday identified four suspects at an identification parade at the Colombo Magistrate’s Court.

Among the identified suspects were the Welisara Navy Camp Lt.Commander and Consultant Doctor (interdicted) and a Member of Mihinthale Pradeshiya Sabha.

Following the parade, the child told the Court that the suspects never inquired whether she was schooling. The additional magistrate ordered to give bail to the four identified suspects under strict bail conditions. The four suspects were ordered to be bailed on Rs.25,000 cash and two personal sureties each worth Rs 2.5 million.

The Court ordered the National Child Protection Authority to expedite the investigations.
