Glamour Fest 2023 is a celebration of creativity and talent, featuring the work of Fashion Design students from the National Innovation Centre (NIC) at the National Institute of Business Management (NIBM). From day one of their degree programme, the faculty and staff at NIC shared a singular objective: to produce visionary designers equipped to navigate the ever-evolving landscape of the global fashion industry. Fashion, a rapidly growing and highly dynamic field, demands true talent and forward-thinking design visionaries. Since its inception, NIC has proudly borne the national responsibility of nurturing innovators and design thinkers. In this endeavor, the unwavering support from its partner university for design degree programmes, Limkokwing University of Creative Technology (LUCT) in Malaysia, has been instrumental.

Established in 2017, the National Innovation Centre (NIC) has rapidly evolved into a prominent higher education provider in Sri Lanka. As the innovative arm of NIBM, the institute has become an iconic presence in Sri Lanka’s higher education landscape, attracting a substantial number of students annually. NIC offers a diverse range of programs, from foundation to postgraduate levels, signifying NIBM’s commitment to diversifying its program portfolio.

Six years since its inception, NIC stands as a testament to success in all its dimensions, and Glamour Fest is a living testament to this achievement. As NIBM ventures into Outcome Based Learning (OBL) to align with global higher education trends, the event is a reflection of the genuine OBL path that NIBM has embarked upon.

The Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Fashion Design, offered by NIC, is the perfect platform for launching a creative career. This 3-year full-time degree program is meticulously designed to empower aspiring designers with the skills, knowledge, and creative vision required to excel in the fashion industry.

Applicants need a GCE (AIL) qualification in any stream with a minimum of two passes in a single sitting or an equivalent qualification. Over the three-year program, students explore a diverse range of subjects that not only expand their knowledge but also ignite their creativity. As they progress, they build a strong foundation in fashion design and related fields.

The culmination of this journey occurs in the final year, where students undertake a specialized curriculum that prepares them for the real world of fashion. In their final semester, they engage in subjects that equip them for the challenges of the fashion industry, including Fashion Design and Visualization, Project Runway 2 Design, Public and Media Relations: Global Advertising 2, and Portfolio Development.
