GMOA calls off strike temporarily

The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has decided to suspend the provincial strikes initiated on yesterday.

The GMOA Secretary Dr. Haritha Aluthge said that the decision was taken after a favorable response was received concerning for our issues from the government.

The GMOA launched a series of strikes yesterday, with medical officers in all state hospitals in the Uva Province joined the token strike.

Medical officers in the Northern Province commenced their token strike this morning.
