GN in extortion bid sent on compulsory leave

Colombo District Secretary K. G. Wijesiri said that the Grama Niladhari who was arrested in connection

with the incident of extortion from a pre-school teacher in Homagama Pitipana Suvapubudugama area has been sent on compulsory leave.

He said that after calling Police reports regarding the incident, an internal investigation will be conducted and after that it will be decided whether the concerned Grama Niladhari will be interdicted or not.

The Grama Niladhari of the Suvapubudugama area of the Homagama Divisional Secretariat was arrested by Police and remanded after being presented to Court in connection with this extortion incident.
