Gotabaya Rajapaksa appeals Supreme Court over PTA arrest bid

Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa has filed an appeal petition before the Supreme Court challenging a Court of Appeal ruling that dismissed his writ petition seeking to prevent his arrest under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) in connection with investigations into the Easter Sunday terror attacks.

The Inspector General of Police, the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department and several others have been named as respondents in the appeal. (Newswire)
