Government to resolve teachers and principals salary issues
The Minister said that a Cabinet Sub-Committee to study matters relating to teacher-principal salary anomalies was appointed at this week’s cabinet meeting to submit a comprehensive report at the next cabinet meeting.
The Minister said that the Cabinet of Ministers discussed at length the situation regarding teacher-principal salary anomalies.
Accordingly, the Cabinet of Ministers decided to appoint a Cabinet Sub-Committee consisting of Electricity Minister Dullas Alahapperuma, Industries Minister Wimal Weerawansa, Environment Minister Mahinda Amaraweera, and Tourism Minister Prasanna Ranatunga to take into consideration all the relevant facts in this regard and to further study the matter and report to the Cabinet of Ministers.
“The sub-committee should have to discuss their proposals with the Finance Minister since it is required to have to allocate more than Rs 60 billion to solve this issue,” he added.
